Coronavirus pandemic is arguably the biggest crisis our world has been hit with, since the last century. Every country and industry has been drastically affected without any exceptions. Indian film industry, especially Tollywood was also affected with theatres shutting down and movie shootings coming to a halt.
After the first wave of the Coronavirus, the usual buzz of Tollywood town resumed with theatres re opening. Theatres were shut for the second time due to the second wave of the Coronavirus. With the second wave finally subsiding, the government of Andhra Pradesh took a decision regarding the theatre occupancy. From 8th of July onwards, theatres will be reopened and only 50% of seat occupancy will be allowed.
Many movies have opted for an OTT release given the circumstances, however there are many big ventures from the top stars of Tollywood which are awaiting theatrical release. Tollywood audiences have always been avid movie goers and with the pandemic situation, a lot of them are preferring to stay home and safe. Some of the movies which have confirmed theatrical release are Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivi, Ravi Teja’s Khiladi, Chiranjeevi’s Acharya, Vishwak Sen’s Paagal and more.
