As we all know, Ticket Pricing has been one of the major issues in the state of Andhra Pradesh from the last few months as far as Telugu Cinema is considered. Many discussions and meetings were conducted on this issue both from the side of AP Government and the Telugu film fraternity. The star heroes, directors and producers went and met the AP chief minister YS Jagan on this issue and had submitted their views and problems in this issue. Taking them all into consideration, the AP Government had finally come up with a new Government Order very recently setting the new ticket pricing system in the state.
The state government of Andhra Pradesh after taking the report from the committee appointed for setting the new ticket pricing in the state headed by the Principal Secretary to the Government, released the order recently after all the examinations.
The regions are divided into three categories. Municipal Corporations, Municipality and Nagar Panchayats or Grama Panchayats. The theatres are categorised into Non AC theatres, AC theatres, Special theatres and Multiplexes.
The new ticket prices are as follows.
Non AC Theatre in a Municipal Corporation – 40 Rs (Non Premium), 60 Rs (Premium)
Non AC Theatre in a Municipality – 30 Rs (Non Premium), 50 Rs (Premium)
Non AC Theatre in a Panchayat – 20 Rs (Non Premium), 40 Rs (Premium)
AC Theatre in a Municipal Corporation – 70 Rs (Non Premium), 100 Rs (Premium)
AC Theatre in a Municipality – 60 Rs (Non Premium), 80 Rs (Premium)
AC Theatre in a Panchayat – 50 Rs (Non Premium), 70 Rs (Premium)
Special Theatre in a Municipal Corporation – 100 Rs (Non Premium), 125 Rs (Premium)
Special Theatre in a Municipality – 80 Rs (Non Premium), 100 Rs (Premium)
Special Theatre in a Panchayat – 70 Rs (Non Premium), 90 Rs (Premium)
Multiplex in a Municipal Corporation – 150 Rs (Regular), 250 Rs (Recliner)
Multiplex in a Municipality – 125 Rs (Regular), 250 Rs (Recliner)
Multiplex in a Panchayat – 100 Rs (Regular), 250 Rs (Recliner)
The order also includes the permission for running 5 shows per day in the theatres subject to the condition that there must be at least one show reserved for the low budget films in between 11 AM to 9 PM on any day. The low budget films include any film made under the budget of 20 crores including the remunerations.
The order also facilitates the hike in the ticket prices for super high budget films for 10 days from the release date subject to the condition that at least 20 percent of the shoot is done in Andhra Pradesh. The super high budget films include any film made above the budget of 100 crores excluding the remunerations.
All the guidelines in this order will be in execution from this weekend’s releases.
