‘Janaka Aithe Ganaka’ is produced by Dil Raju Productions’ Harshith Reddy and Hanshitha Reddy. The film’s premieres have successfully generated significant buzz. Finally, the movie is in theatres today (October 12th):
Story:
Prasad (Suhas) works as a sales and service execute at a washing machine company. Since his means are meagre, he convinces his wife (Sangeerthana Vipin) to delay pregnancy. They have been married for three years and have successfully dodged parenthood despite pressures from an old-fashioned grandma, and a mocking dad. The tables turn when, due to a defective condom, the wife gets pregnant. The unplanned pregnancy threatens to ruin Prasad’s mental peace and future plans. What if his fatherhood were to lead to his financial ruin? Since he believes that it takes a fortune to give his child the best possible in everything, he takes a drastic decision that invites trouble for himself and his family.
Analysis:
Writer-director Sandeep Bandla builds a sense of anticipation around the legal case against the condom manufacturer. The case is just the hook, though. The film raises some serious questions that are relatable to the urban middle-class. ‘Janaka Aithe Ganaka’ raises valid questions in the age of the aspirational middle-class facing new challenges that they were not prepared for. In the decades gone by, things were not this bad for a lot of them. Figure out for yourself what we are talking about by watching the movie!
A lot hinges on the ability of the key performers to keep the mood light. In this regard, Suhas’ natural acting talent comes to use. Prasad is a relatable middle-class man whose apprehensions are popular; Suhas brings him alive through his acting chops. The character becomes tricky once the courtroom proceedings begin. He, along with his friend character (played by Vennela Kishore) and the father character (played by Goparaju Ramana), shoulder a lot of scenes with ease.
The courtroom proceedings are given a funny treatment. Prabhas Sreenu plays the defence lawyer. Murali Sharma, as a high-profile lawyer, is also seen. Rajendra Prasad plays a judge who comes across as the neighbourhood friendly uncle.
‘Naa Favourite Naa Pellam’, written by Krishna Kanth and sung by Adithya RK, is romantic. Vijai Bulganin’s composition, including the background score, is a plus for the film. Sai Sriram’s cinematography is decent. The film avoids heavy-duty scenes for good.
Verdict:
‘Janaka Aithe Ganaka’ is a fun-filled Dasara release that registers its protest against certain man-made social problems of the day without being preachy and without being grim. Book your tickets right away and enjoy it with your family in cinemas!
