The pan-India star Rana Daggubati has been one of the foremost Telugu actors who have worked in different film industries. He has already stated in many interviews his take on films and his approach to them. Recently, the actor has also debuted on OTT with the web series Rana Naidu, along with his uncle Venkatesh Daggubati. Rana started his career as a VFX technician with his own firm. Later, he became a full-time actor. Recently, Rana attended an interview with India Today Conclave South 2023, where he talked about films and the globalization of Indian films.
Rana Daggubati stated that South Indian films were accepted and loved in Bollywood before Baahubali in the television sector. That was the time when Baahubali was released, and people from all over the nation enjoyed it. However, Indian films were always grand in the black-and-white era, which the colorization couldn’t take forward. Worldwide cinema started accepting films with rooted culture and nativity, and now the actors and the makers are looking into making grand films. The host questioned Rana’s take on nepotism and if he felt a benefit from coming from a star family. Rana said that it feels like a sense of responsibility for him as an insider to bring in more talented people and make successful films.
Talking about Prabhas’s upcoming film, Project K, Rana said that it is the most anticipated Telugu film, to which everyone in the industry is looking forward. He added that Project K will surely push and break all the boundaries to the next level, even beyond what RRR and Baahubali made. He also said that Project K is now not even a pan-Indian film but a global film.
Rana Daggubati mentioned his grandfather, D Ramanaidu Garu, saying that he was his first hero. And he loved his grandfather’s thoughts and vision of cinema. Rana will be producing a film with Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan.
Rana Daggubati, a technician, an actor, a producer, and a talk show host, is a part of the film industry making grand films and is now aiming toward world cinema.
