Shaakuntalam, the first mythological flick of Samantha Ruth Prabhu entered the post production work. The movie team announced the same by releasing a video on social media. The shooting of the film was completed a few months ago. Samantha dons the title role of Shakuntala while Malayalam actor Dev Mohan plays Dushyant, the protagonist in this movie. Another special attraction of Shaakuntalam is Arha, daughter of hero Allu Arjun, who is making her acting debut with the movie. The movie also has veteran actor Mohan Babu as Durvasa.

Termed as ‘mythology for millennials,’ Shaakuntalam is produced by Neelima Guna and presented by ace Tollywood producer Dil Raju, while music is provided by Mani Sharma. Gunasekhar’s previous film Rudhramadevi was also a period drama starring Anushka Shetty in the lead role. Earlier, the producers also announced Shaakuntalam will be a pan-Indian film and it will be released soon only in theaters.
