Kollywood director Vetrimaaran presented Pallavi in the role of a pregnant woman. Then Sekhar Kammula, Sai Pallavi’s favourite director, presented the actress as Mouni in the movie Love Story. Even Mouni is a serious role. And then, Rosie in Shyam Singha Roy, Vennela in Virata Parvam, and Gargi in the upcoming movie Gargi, all belong to the same category. Now the question raised by Pallavi fans is: why does the actress choose serious roles continuously? Is that the decision of Sai Pallavi by herself to choose those kinds of roles so that she could get a better chance and space to prove her acting? Or the reason might be that she could not play glamorous roles in commercial movies and so she is selecting only commercial roles. On the other hand, this case even has another possibility. The directors could have approached Sai Pallavi only for serious roles, as she is the only choice now who could justify the roles at best.

It is evident from the words of the director. “I would surely leave the script of Virata Parvam aside and do another film if Sai Pallavi had not accepted to play the character Vennela in the film,” said Virata Parvam director Venu Udugula on several occasions. So a few directors are opting only for Sai Pallavi for such serious roles. This Friday’s release, Gargi, is from the same list.
