Given the impending Andhra Pradesh elections, we thought it would be fun to compile a list of TFI films with political undercurrents for all of the cinema buffs to enjoy, this election season. Even while political themes have long been a popular part of entertainment in the film business, very few films are entirely focused on politics.

1. Leader (2010): Introducing the most-talented Rana Daggubati to the movie industry, the movie Leader, is a political drama film written and directed by Sekhar Kammula, and produced by AVM Productions.
The film gently parodies the issues facing modern society while telling the tale of a young man who has returned from America and is driven to alter conventional politics.
“Leader” will be at the top of the list of the best political movies made in the Telugu Film Industry.
2. Prasthanam: Helmed by Deva Katta, the film Prasthanam stars Sharwanand, Sai Kumar, Sundeep Kishan, Pavitra Lokesh and others. The film emphasizes the animosity and retribution among members of a prominent family in a rural setting, highlighting the negative consequences of power thirst.
The political drama bagged two FilmFare Awards, and two Nandi Awards, for which Sai Kumar and Deva Katta were honored in the categories- Best Supporting Actor and Best Critics Award respectively.
3. Oke Okkadu: Starring Action Star Arjun and Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala in the lead roles, is a 1999 Indian Tamil-language political action film produced by R. Madhesh and Shankar Shanmugham, co-written and directed by Shankar. Raghuvaran, Vadivelu, and Manivannan appear in supporting roles.
Oke Okkadu, a Tamil film with Telugu dubbing, managed to connect with the Telugu audience and is regarded as one of the best dramas centered around politics.
The film is about a dedicated TV reporter who exposes the state’s Chief Minister for inadequate performance of his duties. The Chief Minister, who is furious, challenges the journalist to sit in his chair for an entire day while a live broadcast is in progress.
It was evident how popular the idea of a one-day chief minister was from the enormous number of people who supported it.
