Superstar Rajinikanth’s most loved movie Baasha, which was re-released in 2017 in Tamil for the first time, had record-breaking openings on the first day, following another re-release (Tamil) last year, which also got a similar reception.
Since Baasha will soon get a spectacular Telugu re-release, the film’s creators have produced a teaser that showcases Rajinikanth’s incredibly elegant demeanor and makes his admirers nostalgic. Baasha Telugu is all set to hit the screens from May 1st.
Directed by Suresh Krissna, the movie was released on January 12, 1995. Produced by RM Veerappan (Presenter), V Rajkamal, and V Thamilazhagan, the action drama also features Nagma, Raghuvaran, and others in important roles. Baasha was edited by Ganesh Kumar and PS Prakash handled the cinematography.
The tale of Baasha, revolves around an average autowallah who has a background as an underworld don, played by Rajinikanth. In his book, director Suresh Krissna previously shared his thoughts on Rajinikanth’s smash success “Baasha,” saying, “Of all the hits Rajini has done, Baasha is the best. Since Rajini and I think it is difficult to recreate that enchantment, we do not have any plans to make a sequel to Baasha.”
The film was filmed in five months and was released in theaters for 175 days. Punch lines from the Rajinikanth film are also well-known; one such line is “E Baasha Okka Sari Chebithe Vandha Saarlu Cheppinattu,” which is still a crowd favorite.
