The Telugu public holds a particular place in their hearts for the movie “Venky,” which stars Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja in the lead role and actress Sneha as his love interest. Recently re-released in theaters, and celebrated amidst a huge crowd, Venky is such a big milestone for all the actors and technicians that were a part of the action-comedy entertainer. Thanks to its funny storyline, an array of stars, and incredibly compelling premise.
A handful of the movie’s most famous scenes, particularly the train scene, had the audience in fits of laughter. Watching the re-release of Venky was such a feast, with the audience mouthing along with every word in the dialogue.
Venky had a significant influence on both Srinu Vaitla, the filmmaker noted for his humorous interpretations of films, and Ravi Teja’s career as the lead actor. Director Srinu Vaitla recently spoke with the media about his experiences, trivia, and other interesting details about Venky.
When discussing Venky’s most famous and amusing train scene, Srinu Vaitla said, “I never imagined the train scene would turn out to be such an amusement to the audience. I now understand that no Telugu fan base discussion would be complete without a meme from this film. However, at the time of the movie’s filming, we were unsure whether or not such scenes would genuinely amuse viewers.”
Srinu Vaitla elaborated, saying, “We had to film the entire episode in one train compartment, so several team members thought the comedy might not work out. Although it may sound intriguing, we didn’t even have scene sheets for those episodes.”
There are moments when I think I could have done a better job if the technology of today had been around. The director remarked, “But given the impact it has had on Telugu people, I don’t think there would have been another option.”
“Venky” was released in 2004 starring Ravi Teja and Sneha in the lead roles. Ashutosh Rana, Srinivasa Reddy, Chitram Seenu, Ramachandra, Brahmanandam, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, AVS, Venu Madhav, Mallikarjuna Rao, Tanikella Bharani, Krishna Bhagavan, Master Bharath, Jeeva, Ahuti Prasad, and others had impressive roles in the movie.
Along with director Srinu Vaitla, renowned writers Kona Venkat and Gopimohan also were a part of Venky‘s script work.
