Kanchana series director, Raghava Lawrence, has opted out of Laxmmi Bomb, the official Hindi
remake of Kanchana. He cited the reason as feeling disrespected and humiliated after the Akshay Kumar’s first look poster was released without his knowledge.
Raghava Lawrence took to his Twitter handle to confirm the news. He added, he could hold back the script for the treatment he was meted out, but will not do as he values ethics and respects Akshay Kumar’s work as an actor.
R. Sarath Kumar played the role of a transgender in the original Kanchana (2011,) which Akshay Kumar reprises in the Hindi version. Laxmmi Bomb is slated to release on June 5th, 2020 and has Kiara Advani playing the lead opposite Akshay Kumar.
