With the boost of the results from the films which got released in January, there were a good number of releases in February this year. The releases include Madhura Wines, Zombie Reddy, Pranavum, G-Zombie, Uppena, FCUK: Father Chitti Umaa Kaarthik, Pitta Kathalu, Naandhi, Kapatadhaari, A: Ad Infinitum, Check, Akshara and Ninnila Ninnila.
This article deals with some decent good films that are recommended for our audience.
Zombie Reddy
Introducing Zombies in Telugu for the first time and with the excess levels of comedy, the director Prasanth Varma provided an entertainment packed film to the audience. The film was filled completely with factionism, some love and extreme fun. Teja Sajja performed at his best despite being a debutant. Anandhi added the weight to the film with her special performance. Getup Srinu and Hemanth provided crazy laughter throughout the film. The score from Mark K. Robin left a great impact on the film. The entire makeup department needs to be appreciated for bringing the best looks for zombies. There was a lot of predictability as the story progressed. Keeping the expectations aside, the film is a fun ride with a perfect technical exposure.
Uppena
With the huge response for the songs and heavy promotions by both Mega Family and Sukumar, the film Uppena hit the theatres with huge expectations and a grand welcome. Living up to them all, the film did great at the box office collecting nearly 100 crores. The film deals with a cute love story of two youngsters who have feelings for each other. The film also shows the true colours of caste discrimination and honor killings. The performances from Panja Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty nowhere did not look like they are debutants. They look wonderful together as a pair on screen. The most talented actor and nationally acclaimed Vijay Sethupathi did not have a great scope for his character, but his presence on the screen alone drove the audience to the movie theatres. The rich visuals and high production values added elegance to the film. The music from Devi Sri Prasad alone had put the film at the top. Though the predictable storyline and slow pace were the noticeable flaws, the honesty in writing by Buchi Babu Sana is projected both on screen and at box office.
Naandhi
Seeking attention with the trailer that Allari Naresh did a serious role coming out from his comfort zone of comedy, the film Naandhi produced the quality of theme even after the release. The film shows us the struggles and the fight of an innocent middle class man when he becomes the accused for a homicide unknowingly. Naresh is a one man show of the story and the film. The intensity in his acting looks supreme. Varalakshmi Sarathkumar provided a great support to the film in a role she is quite comfortable with. Harish Uthaman and Priyadarshi were apt to their roles. The jail scenes were well picturised. The director Vijay Kanakamedala came up with an interesting plot showing Section 211, which allows the law to take action on the police if they file any false charges of offense and presented a perfect legal drama to the audience. The film can be more gripping as it deals with crime and laws. However this film must be recommended to know about the flaws in the system and to watch some reality. The film is currently being made in Hindi with Rajkummar Rao.
Check
Chandrasekhar Yeleti, the name itself promises us some good cinema in Tollywood. With the support of SS Rajamouli, Yeleti had promoted his film Check for the first time. The film deals with the struggles and the fight of an innocent who is sentenced to life for being involved in a blast with terrorists. Nithin perfectly fits this serious role and he did it so effectively. Sai Chand proved himself again with an impeccable performance. Rakul did a good job as a lawyer. The film maintains a good pace till halftime and then slowly gets imbalanced. The chess scenes were well picturised. The climax is a great thrill to watch with the twist. On an endnote, the film is worth watching for the prison drama it provides.
These are our picks for the month of february. There can be few other films which can be discussed here. But as we said earlier, this article deals with some decent Telugu Cinema. Finally, the best pick for February 2021 is Naandhi.
