Wild Dog
With the symptoms of the second wave of COVID-19 coming, there were not many films that got released in April. But the film Wild Dog still managed to bring the audience to the theatres with the unique story, promising trailer and aggressive promotions. The film deals with the NIA Investigation to catch the Indian Mujahideen leader. The story is truly a reflection of real incidents. Nagarjuna suited well in the character of an NIA officer. Saiyami Kher and Ali Reza also performed well. The visuals looked so rich. As the film was shot in various locations, the film gave the same authentic feeling. The action stunts are the major highlight of the film. The film drives straight to the point and is so gripping. The film is suggested for the feel it provides us away from the routine telugu films.
Vakeel Saab
The most awaited film of the year was Vakeel Saab. This was because of the re-entry of Pawan Kalyan into the films after a gap of 3 years. The fans had huge expectations to watch their lovable power star back on the screen after a long gap. The film was an official remake of the Hindi film Pink. Instead of choosing a full length commercial entertainer for his comeback, Pawan Kalyan opted for a message oriented film. He was seen as a lawyer in his career for the first time. Accepting the challenge of playing a character that was portrayed by the great Amitabh Bachchan in the original, Pawan Kalyan justified the role so well, especially in the courtroom sequences. Nivetha Thomas and Anjali gave impeccable performances. Prakash Raj is exceptional as always. The music and background score from SS Thaman are apt to the theme of the film. Despite the over addition of commercial elements, the film delivers a perfect message and stood as the perfect comeback for Pawan Kalyan.
