On Wednesday, the giant video streaming platform- Netflix revealed that nine Tamil movies would be available for streaming on the over-the-top service in 2024 after their respective theatrical debut. As Netflix has acquired the digital rights to Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan, Vidaa Muyarchi starring Ajith, and Thangalaan starring Vikram, and six other movies, they have announced the 2024 Tamil calendar.
Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2:
Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan, is a follow-up to the actor’s highly regarded vigilante action film Indian from 1996. The movie’s official release date is still pending. Netflix will begin streaming this highly anticipated Shankar directorial once it opens in theaters. Netflix has bought the rights to the film.
Vikram starrer Thangalaan:
The release of Thangalaan is scheduled for April of this year. With Vikram and Pasupathy in the major parts, the Pa Ranjith directorial- Thangalaan is one of the most anticipated Tamil films of the year. As usual, Vikram has had a significant makeover to appeal to the narrative
Vijay Sethupathi’s Maharaja:
Maharaja, starring Vijay Sethupati Under Nithilan Swaminathan’s direction, the movie is currently under making and will see the theaters in a couple of months. Produced by Passion Studios and The Route, the movie stars Mamta Mohandas and Natarajan Subramaniam in crucial roles.
Ajith Kumar’s Muyarchi Vidaa:
Starring Kollywood’s most popular hero Ajith Kumar, the movie is directed by Magizh Thirumeni. Lyca Productions is producing the action drama, while Anirudh Ravichander is the music director.
Sivakarthikeyan 21, Revolver Rita, Kannivedi, SorgaVaasa, and a couple of other movies are on the list of Tamil movies that are to be released on Netflix in 2024.
Netflix has also announced the list of Telugu movies they will stream for the year 2024, grabbing all the attention.
