In a recent social media video, actor Manchu Vishnu, who is getting ready to wow the public with his spiritual film “Kannappa,” made some poignant remarks. The ‘Dhee’’ actor used social media to highlight the importance of broadening our understanding of Indian history.
Manchu Vishnu revealed that he recently participated in an interactive social media session that got him thinking about how people assume things about the past. “Most of the people asked me when Kannappa will be released and termed it as a mythological movie” .
“Mythology indicates something that has never happened,” Manchu Vishnu went on. “Our Mahabharatha and Ramayana are more than just legends. The discoveries of Dwaraka and Ram Setu provide evidence that they exist in our past.”
“Thus, we must respect our culture and take ownership of our past. Kannappa is based on the true story of ‘Bhaktha Kannappa,’ which happened in the Sri Kaalahasti region. Manchu Vishnu remarked, “We cannot call these things mythologies; they are our history.”
“Kannappa,” an upcoming Telugu-language fantasy drama film directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, stars Manchu Vishnu in the lead role. It is based on the life of Hindu deity Shiva’s devotee Kannappa. Produced by Vishnu’s father, the renowned actor Manchu Mohan Babu, under the umbrellas of 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment.
The music for Kannappa will be composed by Mani Sharma and Stephen Devassy.
