Finally, the movie makers of Karthi starrer Khaidi got some solace in the court of law. The two long pending issues related to the movie were untangled and the line was clear for the production of Bhula, the Hindi remake of Khaidi and the sequel Khaidi 2.
For the unknown, here are the full details. The first part of South Star Karthi’s super hit flick Khaidi released in 2019, gave away hints of the sequel. Unfortunately, the movie was on headlines with the news for not-so-positive reasons. A person knocked the door of the court alleging that the story of Khaidi was his own and demanded a share in the profits. In the sequence, the court ordered to halt the production of the sequel and remake the movie in Hindi as well.
Subsequently, the movie unit kept the project aside for the time being. The court delivered its verdict in favour of the director, and declared that director Lokesh Kanagaraj. It came to the conclusion that the story is the director’s intellectual property. With this, the movie makers get some solace in two long pending issues as the line was clear for the production of Bhula, the Hindi remake of Khaidi and the sequel Khaidi 2.
Khaidi starring Karthi, Narain and Arjun Das in the lead roles, was based on a prisoner on parole, who’s on his way to meet his daughter. He was inducted by a helpless police officer to protect a few cops. In Khaidi, actor Harish Uthaman plays Adaikalam who is in the prison and recognizes Dilli, played by Karthi. It is highly possible that Khaidi 2 will be about what Dilli was doing before going to prison and what’s the story between Adaikalam and Dilli.
