The Varun Tej starrer Valmiki, an official remake of the Tamil hit Jigarthanda (2014,) is likely to get a new music director, Mickey J. Meyer. The Harish Shanker directorial, produced by Achanta Ramu and Achanta Gopinath, under the 14 Reels Plus banner, is tentatively fixed for a release date of August 15th.
News is, star composer Devi Sri Prasad was the first choice for music direction, but he opted out of the project for unknown reasons.
Now, as per sources, Harish Shankar roped in talented music director Mickey J. Meyer, who created memorable scores for Varun Tej’s previous movies like Mukunda (2014) and Mister (2017.)
Mickey J. Meyer gave a soulful score for the Savitri biopic Mahanati (2018) and won rave reviews for his orchestration.
Team Valmiki will make the official confirmation soon, sources said.
