In today’s world women are making their own decisions and voicing their opinions out loud and openly in society.  The south Indian industry heroines aren’t all about glamour and beauty anymore, but are rather choosing and delivering amazing women centric  roles and setting the box office on fire with multiple great performances awards. On the occasion of this Women’s Day , let’s all remember the actresses who made the industry a much better place with their talent.

Samantha Akkineni is one of the most talented actresses in the south Indian film industry.  She has been giving some impeccable performances since a few years and movies like Majili, Oh Baby, Super Deluxe or Rangasthalam are testimony enough.  She has won awards like South Indian International Movie Awards for Rangasathalam and66th Filmfare Award for Mahanati.

Sai Pallavi:

Sai Pallavi is often called a natural beauty by her South Indian fans.  She is one of those actors who doesn’t prefer to put on makeup on and off screen.  She performs exceptionally well in all her roles and is also known as the dancing queen of the south.  Her song Rowdy Baby with co actor Dhanush became the first indian song to cross 600m views on YouTube.  She definitely made a mark in the industry in just a few years.

Keerthy Suresh:

Keerthy became immensely popular and a well known face after her National Award performance in her last movie Mahanati, a biopic of the legendary actress Savitri. The movie  won 3 National Awards which proves her brilliant acting.

Anushka Shetty:

Anushka Shetty is off late known for women eccentric movies like  Bhaagamathie,Rudhramadevi and her upcoming movie Nishabadham.  She has been in the industry since 2005 and has been called a courageous woman multiple times for choosing such roles.  She has won a Filmfare Award for Best Actress and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Best Actress.

Nayanthara:

Nayanthara is not only known for her beauty  but is also called a female superstar. Her women centric movies Aramm and Kolamavu Kokila have won many hearts.  In a recent interview with Vogue, Nayanthara made a powerful statement. She said, “Why should men have all the power all the time? The problem is that women don’t feel confident to be in a commanding role, to be able to say, this is what I want, and this is what I will do.  It’s not a gender thing, ultimatelyif I can listen to you, you should listen to me, too (sic.)” 

Kajal Aggarwal:

Kajal Aggarwal is one of the most beautiful and versatile actors in the industry.  Movies like Mr Perfect, Darling, Magadheera and Businessman were critically acclaimed and gained a lot of popularity for herself in the south.  She has also worked in Bollywood movies like Singham and Special 26 which were a huge hit at the box office.  She has won a Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her roles in Magadheera and Mr Perfect.
