The Coronavirus pandemic has hit the country very hard and drastically affected many people and many industries. Tollywood might have slowed down a bit, but the industry is always buzzing with new updates every day. This week was eventful with a bunch of movie updates, movie anniversaries, celebrity birthdays and more. Let us look at the newsmakers of this week:
- Pushpa Movie To Have Two Parts
Pushpa is undoubtedly one of the most awaited movies of this year. This Allu Arjun and Sukumar venture carries massive expectations since its inception. The creators of Pushpa, Mythri Movie Makers confirmed that the movie will have two parts. The reason for this being, Pushpa has a lot of span and is a movie which is hard to narrate in just two and a half hours.
- Shooting Update: Annaaththe Movie
The Super Star Rajinikanth starrer Annaatthe is an action entertainer which is being filmed at a brisk pace. Rajinikanth arrived at Hyderabad last month for the shooting of Annaatthe and filmed for 35 days in a non stop schedule. The star wrapped up his schedule in Hyderabad and left for Chennai this week.
- The Covid Word: Jr. NTR, Kangana Ranaut, Allu Arjun and Rajinikanth
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, the Young Tiger Jr. NTR were both tested positive for Covid 19 and are currently in isolation. Meanwhile, in a piece of good news, Allu Arjun tested negative for Covid 19 and reunited with his family after a 15 day quarantine period. Rajinikanth headed back to Chennai after wrapping up his schedule in Hyderabad for Annaatthe and received the second dose of CoviShield vaccine.

- Movie Anniversaries: Many iconic movies like Gangleader, Gabbar Singh, Mahanati and more.
This week was rather a nostalgic week with many iconic movie anniversaries. Chiranjeevi’s Gangleader (1991) and Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari (1990,) Nagarjuna’s classic Geethanjali (1989) completed over three decades this week. Venkatesh starrer Preminchukundam Raa (1997) completed 24 years, while Ravi Teja’s Bhadra (2005) completed 16 years and Kick (2009) completed 12 years. The Jr. NTR starrer Kantri (2008) was released 13 years ago and Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh (2012 ) 9 years ago, this week. Keerthy Suresh starrer Mahanati (2018) completed 3 years and Mahesh Babu starrer Maharshi (2019) celebrated 2 years of release.

- Movie Updates: Shyam Singha Roy, Sridevi Soda Center and Stand Up Rahul
On the occasion of Sai Pallavi’s birthday, the makers of Shyam Singha Roy unveiled her first look from the movie. The glimpse video of the Sudheer Babu starrer Sridevi Soda Center was released this week on Sudheer Babu’s birthday. A new poster was revealed by the team of the Raj Tarun starrer Stand Up Rahul on Raj Tarun’s birthday.
