Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) met with a delegation of Tollywood representatives led by Megastar Chiranjeevi and listened to their demands and requests to discuss the reopening of the Telugu film industry. KCR agreed to the requests and gave permission to filmmakers to resume shooting schedules on the condition that strict social distancing and safety precautions are followed on the sets.
Ram Mohan Rao, Chairman, Telangana Film Development Corporation, said, “We welcome the government’s decision and the film industry will follow all guidelines that will be issued. While we have to wait for the official Government Order to look at all the guidelines, we are expecting a minimum of 50-60 members to be allowed on set. Only then can things move (sic.)”

Rajamouli’s grand venture Roudram Ranam Rudhiram, is one of the first movies to resume shooting along with the Pawan Kalyan starrer Vakeel Saab. The Producer for RRR D.V.V. Danayya said “Yes, shooting will start again but director Rajamouli will decide when the right time would be for the shoot to resume. Rest assured, all social distancing norms will be followed on the film set (sic.)” Harish Peddi, the producer bankrolling the Nani starrer Tuck Jagadish said “My leading lady, Aishwarya Rajesh, and my DOP are both from Chennai. So we have to fly them in for the shoot to start. We have to keep their safety in mind as well. We will study the guidelines, work out the logistics and then decide when we can start shooting again (sic.)”
A delegation representing Tollywood is scheduled to meet the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy today at 3 P.M to discuss the government letting filmmakers resume shooting in Andhra Pradesh.
