“Yatra-2,” the follow-up to the 2019 biopic “Yatra,” is scheduled to release in theaters shortly. The film, which stars Jiiva in the title role, is billed as a political biography of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Whereas “Yatra” focused on the political landscape and life of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, “Yatra-2” will provide an overview of his son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy‘s political trajectory to date.
In “Yatra-2,” actor Jiiva plays Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the son of former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh- YS Rajasekhar Reddy, played by Malayalam superstar Mammootty, in “Yatra.” An intriguing teaser for the upcoming political film “Yatra-2” has been released by the producers.
Essence of Yatra-2 Teaser:
Directed by Mahi V Raghav the teaser talks about the political events that happened in Andhra Pradesh after YS Jaganmohan Reddy passed away and how he became a popular leader in the state. The “Yatra-2” teaser opens with an emotional scene in which a blind man stands by YS Jaganmohan Reddy in the face of overwhelming odds. This teaser gives viewers a preview of all the other significant moments in YS Jagan’s political career.
The teaser also features YS Jagan’s political rivals, hinting at the momentous events that changed the political landscape after YSR’s death. It shows Jagan’s arrest, his return, and how he makes his own name for himself in politically powerful areas. A few sequences were meticulously reenacted to correspond with actual events in the political lives of the father and son.
Actor Jiiva appears to have portrayed YS Jaganmohan Reddy so convincingly that his facial expressions and overall body language match YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s exactly. The remaining actors also bear a striking resemblance to the actual political figures.
In this biographical film, Malayalam superstar Mammotty, who played YSR in the first “Yatra,” will make a brief appearance. “Yatra 2” is slated for a huge release on February 8 and is produced by UV Celluloid. Prominent actor Mahesh Manjrekar will be seen in an important role, while Suzzane Bernet, Ketaki Narayan, and others will play major roles.
