Sekhar Kammula’s romantic-comedy film Godavari, released in 2006 starring Sumanth and Kamalinee Mukherjee, is one such classic film which shall remain always at the top. This movie has a special place in the hearts of Telugu audience for its storyline set on a boat cruise in Bhadrachalam, melodious songs, the lead actors’ chemistry, everything about this film came as fresh air in the Telugu cinema.
The most loved and praised film, Godavari completes 14 years today. The lead actor of the film Sumanth went nostalgic by remembering the film. Till today, it is considered as the best movie of Sumanth for performance as well. It was the first-ever film in Telugu which was completely shot on the boat cruise from Rajahmundry to Bhadrachalam. The cinematography of this film was hugely praised for capturing the grandeur of the mighty river. Considered to be an inspiration of Bapu’s 1973 film ‘Andala Ramudu’, all songs in the KM Radha Krishnan musical went on to become chartbusters.
