SIIMA is the short form of the South Indian International Movie Awards and is one of the prestigious award functions that happen every year. In this award show, the regional cinema of South India is honored and celebrated. Like every year, this year too, the award show has been announced, and the nominations are officially announced on social media for the audiences. This award function celebrates movies in languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. SIIMA 2023 is going to be held at the World Trade Center in Dubai on September 15th and 16th. They have officially announced the nominations for the best films in South Indian languages.
Let us look at the nominations for Best Film – Telugu (2023). The blockbuster Telugu movies of last year, including RRR, Sita Ramam, DJ Tillu, Karthikeya 2, and Major, are competing with each other in this category. Every film on the list is not just entertaining but has also impacted the audience across the nation, and a few of them on a global level too. The movies had rooted stories that represented our culture, mythology, patriotism, and other aspects.

SS Rajamouli’s directorial film RRR is nominated in 11 categories, which is the most for a Telugu movie this year. After that is the periodic romantic film, Sita Ramam, with 10 nominations. Karthikeya 2 gets nominated in five categories. Along with these, several other South Indian films, including PS1, PS2, Vikram, Kantara, KGF 2, and a few others, are also nominated in multiple categories.
