The trend of re-releasing old movies in Tollywood has been gaining momentum in recent months. Producers in the Telugu film industry have been re-releasing hit films by popular actors like Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan, Prabhas, Junior NTR, Ram Charan, Balakrishna, and Nagarjuna to reap good profits.
The latest addition to this list is Megastar Chiranjeevi’s film ‘Shankar Dada M.B.B.S.‘, which is set to be re-released. The makers have announced that the film will be released on November 4th under the banner of Mega Productions. The film has been converted to 4K resolution and will be presented to the audience once again. The film is directed by Jayanth C. Paranjee features Bollywood beauty Sonali Bendre in a lead role, along with Srikanth and Paresh Rawal in prominent roles.
The comedy scenes in the film, especially Chiru’s ‘Linga Maya’ comedy, have been a hit with fans and audiences alike. Chiru’s comedy, dance, and emotion have worked well in the film. The way Chiru has presented several famous Telugu idioms in his own style in English is at the next level. Dialogues like ‘Venkys Marriage… Subbis Death’ and ‘In Front there is Crocodiles Festival’ have left theaters in splits. Even now, fans remember this film with affection.
This film is a remake of the blockbuster ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The music album, composed by Devi Sri Prasad, was a chartbuster. There is no doubt that once again this film will turn theaters into concert stadiums, like how few re-releases did. The film had a successful run for several weeks upon its initial release. Now, as it prepares for re-release, Megastar fans, as well as Telugu audiences, are eagerly awaiting another round of laughter.
