Samantha’s upcoming film, Shaakuntalam, is going to fulfill that wish for both the actress and her fans. It is known to us all that Shaakuntalam is a periodic drama film made on the basis of the Shakuntalam play written by Kalidas. The story deals with the love and marriage between Shakuntala and her husband, King Dushyanta. The film was made on a huge budget. But the makers haven’t confirmed the finalized release date for the film. Today, the official update came about the release date for Shaakuntalam.
Shaakuntalam is going to be released on February 17, 2023, as per the announcement today. It looks like the makers are targeting the long Mahashivratri weekend for the release of the film. Shaakuntalam is going to have a pan-Indian release in multiple languages. Another interesting thing here is that the film is going to be released in 3D across the world. Actually, the makers of Shaakuntalam had earlier planned to release the film in November 2022. But to release the film in 3D, they postponed the release date to February 2023.

Shaakuntalam is written and directed by Gunasekhar. Neelima Guna produced the film under the banner of Gunaa Teamworks. Dil Raju is presenting the film under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. Dev Mohan, Prakash Raj, Mohan Babu, and Gautami played important roles in the film. Mani Sharma composed the music for the film. Sekhar V Joseph is the cinematographer, and Prawin Pudi is the editor of the film.
