The much awaited film debuts of Ram Gopal Varma’s highly anticipated political epics, Vyooham and Shapadham, have been postponed for a couple of times due to various legal challenges and controversies. The premiere of Vyooham, which was initially slated for today, February 23, has been postponed once more. RGV made the announcement late yesterday night on the social networking site X.
Vyooham will now hit the screens on March 1, while Shapadham, which was prior slated for its release on March 1, will now be released on March 8.
Ram Gopal Varma cites ‘technicalities’ as the reason for the duology’s postponement. “VYOOHAM film and SHAPADHAM film are being postponed to March 1st and March 8th. It is due to certain technicalities , wanting to do more promotion and also because we are getting better preferred theatres on those dates”, he wrote on his X.
The political duology, which is directed by Ram Gopal Varma, is produced by Dasari Kiran Kumar under the Ramadutha Creations banner. Balaji has composed the music for Vyooham and Shapadham. Audio is available on Mango Music Label.
Movie Stars Ajmal Amir as YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, while Manasa Radhakrishnan plays Bharathi. Dhanunjay Prabhune, Surabhi Prabhavati, Rekha Surekha, Vasu Inturi and Kota Jayaram appear in significant roles in ‘Vyooham’ and ‘Shapadham’.
