“Pushpaka Vimanam” Telugu Movie Review:
Story:
A newly wed government teacher Sundar (Anand Deverakonda) finds himself in a twisted situation when his wife Meenakshi (Geet Saini) elopes. He tries to cover up the fact by hiring a short film actress Rekha (Sanvi) who ends up making his life even more miserable. Things take a turn for the worse when Sub Inspector Rangam (Sunil) arrests Sundar regarding his wife. The story unfolds when Sundar sets out to find the reason his wife left him and he uncovers some bitter truths.
Performances:
Anand puts forth a layered performance and takes up the role heads on with his variations between comedy and emotions. Sanvi Meghana shines in her role as Rekha and Geet Saini does well as Meenakshi. Sunil is brilliant as the police inspector and brings in the dark humour to the movie. Remaining of the supporting cast do justice to their roles.
Highlights:
Anand’s portrayal of the helpless Sundar is spot on and is one of the highlights of the movie as he holds the movie together. The writing is sensible and a few scenes illustrating the arranged marriages are impactful. The music is fresh and is definitely a major highlight of the movie.
Verdict:
The first half of the movie is muddled with confusion and the pre interval feels rushed. The movie gets interesting when Sunil comes into the picture and the screenplay becomes engaging. Pushpaka Vimanam is a worthwhile quirky comedic entertainer with a few twists and turns along the way.
