Prabhas & Nag Ashwin: An Engaging Conversation Before ‘KALKI 2898 AD’ Release

Rebel Star Prabhas’ much-anticipated pan-Indian film “Kalki 2898 AD” is just hours away from its grand global debut. The production team has meticulously crafted an extensive marketing campaign to build worldwide anticipation. Earlier, the filmmaker Nag Ashwin and Prabhas were involved in an Instagram Live Session.

Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani in key roles, the film is described as a “true pan-Indian film.” It follows a modern-day avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu, who is believed to have descended to Earth to protect the world from evil forces.

In the live session, Prabhas praised Nag Ashwin for his handling of the movie’s production while playfully teasing him about his simple nature and scattered narration style. Prabhas asked Nag Ashwin to reminisce about how he approached Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone for their roles, discussing how the narrations went and their reactions.

During the conversation, Nag Ashwin shared that he was very scared to narrate his first movie to Krishnam Raju Garu because he wanted him to be part of his debut film. Prabhas recalled how his uncle, the great Krishnam Raju Garu, praised Nag Ashwin, saying that he has a bright future.

Nag Ashwin mentioned that since the movie is lengthy and introduces many characters, the hero’s introduction would be slightly delayed, approximately 20 minutes into the film. With excitement, Nag Ashwin said, “This is one of the best intros for a hero. I’m not the whistling or hooting kind of guy in theaters, but even I’ll do the same after watching Prabhas’s introduction – it’s worth the wait!” He also mentioned how fans will have a blast celebrating their hero.

Both Prabhas and Nag Ashwin expressed their happiness with the final outcome of the movie and their excitement for the audience to see it. They also talked about how the film has sparked interest in children to read up on the Mahabharata and other mythologies.

Helmed by Nag Ashwin and produced by C. Aswani Dutt under the legendary Vyjayanthi Movies banner, this VFX-heavy project is a multilingual, mythology-inspired sci-fi film set in the future. It is set to be released in cinemas worldwide on June 27. It’s touted as one of the most expensive Indian films made to date, with music by Santosh Narayanan.
