Amma song from the movie Oke Oka Jeevitham was penned by the late Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry, the legendary lyric writer of Telugu cinema, who wrote many meaningful songs. Sastry’s lyrics are the greatest strength and the deepest emotion of the song.
The screenplay for picturing this song is absolutely brilliant and credit goes to the director, Shree Karthick. At the very beginning of the song, the back-to-back dialogues from Sharwanand quoting “This song is dedicated to you” and “This song is written for my mother” mean the same since both the characters are the same. This representation is a beautiful beginning to the soulful song.
Jakes Bejoy gave a very soulful and heartwarming composition to present the love and affection for motherhood. Sid Sriram’s heartfelt and moving vocals are a huge addition to the song.
The fusion of music from two instruments, veena and guitar, is a brilliant move by the composer Jakes Bejoy.
The acting of the trio, Sharwanand, Amala Akkineni, and Jay Adithya, is just mesmerizing. They created the magic for the song with their expressions. Sharwanand’s emotional expression in the scene where he tastes his mother’s food for the first time after many years is very touching and relatable to most of us. Sid Sriram’s high-pitched voice and Sujith Sarang’s uncut one-shot enhance the beauty of the scene and add weight to Sharwanand’s expressions.
The last visual of Amala blessing both Jay Adithya and Sharwanand at the end of the song is the most emotional and beautiful visual of the song.
“అమ్మా… నే కొలిచే శారదవే… నను నిత్యం నడిపే.. సారథివే” are the lines where Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry stole all our hearts and brought back the memories we all had with our mothers. These lyrics mean that mother is the Saraswathi who teaches us true knowledge and is the real charioteer of our lives.
