Prominent producers of the film industry Sun Pictures announced that Rajinikanth is joining hands with Tamil filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar for his next. The upcoming movie is tentatively titled as Thalaivar 169. Another young talent of Kollywood, Anirudh Ravichander is roped in for the music score. More details are to be released soon.
The production team took to social media to inform,

The Superstar Rajini was last seen on the silver screen in Annaatthe, which was released as Peddanna in Telugu. Directed by Siva, the film was released during Deepavali season in 2021, and received mixed reviews.
On the other hand, Nelson won the Best Screenplay Award in the Norway Tamil Film Festival for his directorial debut Kolamaavu Kokila starring Nayanthara. His last release Doctor, starring Sivakarthikeyan was successful. The young director is currently working on his next film Beast with Vijay and Pooja Hegde. Coming to Thalaivar 169 music director Anirudh Ravichander, he is son of veteran Tamil actor Ravi Raghavendra and nephew of Latha Rajinikanth.
