Is this a Pan India movie?
Nani: No. We are releasing this film in Southern languages only.
You did two roles in this movie. Which did you enjoy the most?
Nani: I enjoyed essaying both the characters to the fullest. Vasu (director role) is closer to my real life. Shyam (Bengali poet role) is very different.
Is it a fictional character?
Rahul: Many Telugu movies have come out in the Kolkata backdrop. Kolkata, I have a vision of how to show the people there. Luckily the story came in a Bengali backdrop. Found great artists. This is a fictional story.
Did you learn Bengali for this movie?
Nani: I learned Bengali. We put Bengalis in the direction department. I recorded their words and listened to them.
What About Natural star tag?
Nani: I want to remove the Natural Star tag too.
Why do you want Nani to be tagged as a Royal Star?
Rahul: Everyone calls Nani a Natural Star. After watching his performance in Shyam Singha Roy, I believe the tag Royal Star is more appropriate for him. I said the same thing to Nani. He did not want to be tagged. He also removed the tag Natural Star and asked to put only Nani on the title card.
Do you feel tense about this movie?
Saipallavai: I get tense about every movie. But for this movie, it appears in my face.
How was it working with Nani?
Saipallavai: We are both good friends. So we enjoyed the movie shoot to the fullest.
Shyam Singha Roy is my best attempt, Nani said. The Self made hero is testing his luck with the movie. The film is hitting the screens tomorrow and is the costliest film in his career. While most of the Tollywood heroes are keen to release their films across the country, Nani is focused on the South Indian market. Besides Sai Pallavi, Krithi Shetty, Nani, the film also stars Madonna Sebastian, Jisshu Sengupta and Murali Sharma.
