Keeping aside his boy next door portrayals, Nani is picking some versatile roles and getting success. He played the role of a revolutionary Bengal writer in his last film Shyam Singha Roy and got very good applause. The film was a commercial success at the box office. The film got an immense response on Netflix streaming platform too. In an interview with a news channel post the release of Shyam Singha Roy, Nani said that he decided to try some different stories and characters for every alternative film after Jersey. Nani is executing the same now. He is going to present his massy rugged avatar with his next film Dasara.
The first look of Dasara got a great response when it got released. Nani was seen in a rugged and rustic look. He also spoke Telangana dialect. There was no other update from the team of Dasara after that announcement. Recently Nani posted his hair and beard look for Dasara on his Instagram handle. And now, there comes an official update from the makers of Dasara. The puja ceremony of the film was conducted on 16th February and the movie was officially launched. Director Sukumar graced the event.

Dasara is directed by Srikanth Odela and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the banner of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas. Keerthy Suresh is going to play the lead actress in the film. Santosh Narayanan is going to compose the music for the film.
