In the history of the Telugu film industry, there are a lot of movies that remain cult classics. One such film is Pedarayudu which was released today, 25 years ago starring Mohan Babu, Bhanu Priya, Rajinikanth and Soundarya. Ravi Raja Pinisetty is the director of the movie which became a huge hit at the box office by portraying family values and sentiments.
Today on the mark of 25 years of Pedarayudu, veteran actor Mohan Shared shared some unknown facts about this cult classic. Mohan Babu said it was Rajinikanth who recommended him to watch the Tamil hit Nattamai and buy the rights from the original director and remake it in Telugu. Also, he revealed Rajinikanth was the one who came forward to play as his father in this film as he really liked the character.
Talking about the director of the film, Mohan Babu said he opted for his good friend Ravi Raja Pinisetty as the director, though he had his own inhibitions, later he changed his mind about the script and decided to do the film.
Mohan also shared a lovely gesture made by Rajinikanth and said when he was facing financial hardship, it was again Rajinikanth who lent him Rs. 45 lakhs to complete the film.

When the opening shot was canned, Mohan Babu as per the scene offered a garland to his on screen father Rajinikanth who later offered the same garland to Mohan Babu and then touched his feet as a mark of respect for his kind heart. “I still have that photo,” says Mohan Babu who was touched by the gesture and feels proud of his friend.
