India is a country which loves to celebrate movies and often look to movie stars as idols. Every year, hundreds of movies are churned out from multiple movie industries in India. Some movies touch your soul while others make you reflect within yourselves. As movies get released each year, the Indian Government has put an award system in place which aims to identify well made movies. The National Awards for the year 2019 have been announced and Mahesh Babu starrer Maharshi won the National Award for The Best Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
Maharshi also won the National Award For Best Choreography which is awarded to Raju Sundaram for his work in the movie. Choreography is the art or practice of designing sequences of movements in songs. If a good dance video for a song is stuck in your head, then all credit goes to the choreographer who designed the dance sequence. Incidentally, this is not the first time Raju Sundaram won a National Award as previously he won the National Award for Best Choreographer for his work in Janatha Garage.
Maharshi tells the story of Rishi (Mahesh Babu) who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a multinational company. When his attention is drawn towards the plight of downtrodden farmers in India by his friend Ravi (Naresh), Rishi sets out to help them. Maharshi threw light on the plight of Indian farmers and how they are often ignored by the societies in the metropolitan cities.
Maharshi was directed by Vamshi Paidipally and starred Mahesh Babu as the lead while Pooja Hegde was the female lead. Allari Naresh plays a pivotal role in Maharshi and essayed a critically acclaimed performance. Maharshi was produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations, Vyjayanthi Movies, and PVP Cinema. Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Meenakshi Dixit, and Ananya appear in supporting roles.
We at Telugu Filmnagar wholeheartedly wish the team of Maharshi and Raju Sundaram hearty congratulations on winning the National Awards.
