Krack Movie Review: Vintage Ravi Teja Is Back As The Audience Call It A Complete Entertainer

Ravi Teja’s Krack finally hit the big screens all across the Telugu states and is the first commercial entertainer of this year to do so.  All eyes are on this movie and how it would perform in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic and a 50% seating occupancy in theaters.  Although the movie ran into some last minute glitches with distribution issues which led to the morning shows being cancelled, the movie began screenings with the second show on 9th January.  The chatter began to pick  up momentum on social media and news portals and all off it pointed towards a vintage Ravi teja back in action for a complete entertainer.

Krack stars Ravi Teja as Circle Inspector Potharaju Veera Shankar, who is a no nonsense cop with a reputation of bringing criminals to task wherever he is deputed.  In one such routine deputation to Ongole, Katari (Samuthirakani) commits a brutal murder, and Veera Shankar picks up the case.  The rest of the story follows how Veera Shankar and Katari lock horns and how Veera Shankar comes out winning.

Ravi Teja is the highlight of Krack, and his performance was flawless as a police officer.  His body language, dialogue delivery and mass avatar are the highlight of the movie.  Gopichand Malineni has managed to deftly weave a skillful story even though the plot might seem routine.  Gopichand infused fresh elements to the story which makes it seem like Krack is not just an old wine in a new bottle.

Thaman is a bonus for Krack as his background scores have elevated some scenes to another level altogether.  The background score is the talk of the town on social media and fans could not get enough of how well it melded with the movie.  Samuthirakani and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar have essayed impeccable performances as the antagonists.  Samuthirakani in particular is garnering an impressive reputation for being a Tollywood baddie and Krack is another feather in his cap.  Shruthi Haasan plays the role of a housewife but she has a surprising performance in the second half, one which will be on the minds of movie goers for a long time to come.

Apart from a few minor scenes involving Ravi Teja and Shruthi Haasan which could have been trimmed out from the movie, Krack is a powerful entertainer and the right shot in the arm for Tollywood to kickstart a new year and a new Sankranthi season.  Krack will no doubt be talked about for a long time to come and will be hailed as a comeback movie for Ravi Teja.
