Janhvi Kapoor To Undo Megha Chowdary’s Role In This Remake

Janhvi Kapoor, the woman who won the hearts of millions with the Bollywood movie Dhadak, is now all set to make her mark in Kollywood. Janhvi is now going to feature opposite Dhruv Vikram in the upcoming movie, Varmaa. The movie is a remake of the Telugu movie Arjun Reddy, which was a huge hit with the Telugu audience.

Arjun Reddy featured Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead roles, while Rahul Ramakrishna, Kamal Kamaraju and Kanchana played key roles in it. Arjun Reddy was widely accepted and won the appreciation of the audience due to its unhindered display of emotions. The tainted dark side of a character was on display in this Vijay Deverakonda starrer, which was quite new and unique to the Telugu audience

Though Varmaa was made much earlier featuring Dhruv Vikram and Megha Chowdary in the lead roles, the makers decided to shoot the whole project again. They stated, the true essence of Arjun Reddy was not replicated in the Megha and Dhruv starrer and hence the decision of reshooting it was taken. Bala,  who directed the initial version of Varmaa, stated, he changed more than 60 percent of the movie, which is probably why it did not meet the expectations of the makers.

Now, Megha Chowdary will play the role of Jia Sharma (the actress) in the movie, while Janhvi is going to feature in the role of Shalini Pandey. Sources say, Gautham Menen is going to direct this upcoming project which is now slated for a grand release in the month of June 2019.
