GodFather is the official Telugu remake of the blockbuster Malayalam movie, Lucifer. Chiranjeevi is the lead actor in GodFather, playing the same role played by Mohanlal in the original. Mohan Raja is the director of GodFather. Super Good Films, in association with Konidela Production Company, produced the film. The film has had very positive vibes surrounding it since the beginning of the production to date. The film is going to be released in a very few hours in both the Telugu states and in Hindi on the occasion of Dussehra, on October 5th. Before the release of the film, one major question strikes on everyone’s mind.
After watching Mohanlal’s Lucifer in theatres in 2019 or on Amazon Prime Video later, what can the Telugu audience expect from the remake of GodFather by Chiranjeevi and his team?
GodFather Pre-Review:
Firstly, let us consider the story of GodFather. The makers had already confirmed that the film’s story is almost the same except for a few changes made in the screenplay by Mohan Raja and Chiranjeevi so as to match Chiranjeevi’s mass craze and satisfy his audience. Such an experiment was made previously by Chiranjeevi and VV Vinayak for Khaidi No. 150, which resulted in success. So it is sure that the boss, Chiranjeevi, took similar care for GodFather too.
The dialogues for GodFather were penned by Lakshmi Bhupala, who has been a great fan of the megastar since his early days of career. As a result, all of this love and respect is reflected in the GodFather dialogues. We have all already witnessed two samples, one – a dialogue on politics posted by Chiranjeevi on Twitter and the other – revealed by Chiranjeevi in the pre-release event. It is evident from both the dialogues that Lakshmi Bhupala penned them purely as a fan and they will surely appeal to the mass audience in theatres.
Mohan Raja is well-known for his blockbuster movie Thani Oruvan in Tamil. The film was remade into Telugu as Dhruva as Ram Charan. Actually, Ram Charan wanted to work with Mohan Raja for Dhruva and, unfortunately, it did not happen. So Charan suggested Chiranjeevi to take Mohan Raja on board for the remake of Lucifer, and from then on, the director grabbed the golden opportunity of making a film with his favourite star. So far, Mohan Raja’s presentation of Chiranjeevi is very impressive, as seen in the trailer and other promos. Well, we need to wait for a few more hours to get the full quota of it.
Thaman S needs a special mention here when we discuss the technical aspects of the film. Lucifer is not much of a commercial movie, but when it comes to GodFather, the makers made it a bit commercial so as to satisfy the mega fans. Thaman played a prominent role in this implementation. Usually, adding songs to films like Lucifer is not that easy. But Thaman took that challenge very seriously, and the result is the blockbuster output of Thaar Maar Thakkar Maar and GodFather title songs. Chiranjeevi also said in the pre-release event that Thaman uplifted the heroism of the lead character through his background score, even in the action sequences with the addition of bits of songs.
Another special mention here goes to the costume designer and the makeup artist for bringing out the best appearance for Chiranjeevi on screen. The lead character of GodFather, as per the story, is a bit old, not much younger. But the makers took care that Chiranjeevi still appears stylish and unique irrespective of the age factor.
GodFather has the biggest advantage of all because of its special and huge star cast. GodFather stars Nayanthara, Salman Khan, and Satya Dev in important roles. All the actors fit their roles perfectly, as seen in the trailer and in comparison to the original. Salman Khan is going to be a special package for sure because both the Telugu and the Hindi audience are going to witness the two megastars of Indian cinema, Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan, together on the big screen for the very first time.
Chiranjeevi and Mohanlal are two outstanding actors in Indian cinema. It would be dumb to compare them, but here, it is the need of the discussion as GodFather is the remake of Lucifer. Mohanlal nailed the lead role in Lucifer. He added his special magic with the unique attitude and intensity required for the role. Chiranjeevi will surely try to dominate the role in the same way by getting into the skin of the character. Also, Chiranjeevi will surely add that special mega touch to the role to satisfy the mass pulse of the Telugu audience.
So the wait is almost over and a few more hours are left to witness the mega magic of GodFather. Chiranjeevi will surely give the Telugu audience a mega treat in this political action film. The countdown starts.
