Pogaru, starring Dhruva Sarja and Rashmika Mandanna, will be the first big star release of 2021 from the Kannada film industry. The film will be released simultaneously in Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil. The film also stars international bodybuilders Kai Greene, Morgan Aste, Johan Lucas, and Jo Linder as antagonists. Directed by Nanda Kishore, Pogaru is touted to be an action thriller and is gearing up for a big release tomorrow, on February 19, 2021.
Dhruva Sarja
Dhruva Sarja is popularly referred to as the ‘Action Prince’ and is the nephew of actor Arjun Sarja. Pogaru, the fourth film of Dhruva’s career, will mark the return of the actor on the big screen after 4 years. The actor worked on his role for 3 years and bulked up to match the monstrous bodies of his antagonists in the film.
Rashmika Mandanna
Rashmika Mandanna worked predominantly in the Kannada industry before making her debut in Tollywood. Popularly known as ‘Karnataka crush’, Rashmika will feature in the role of a teacher, who makes sure he (Dhruva) turns over a new leaf and becomes a responsible person. If you are a Telugu audience and never watched Rashmika in a Kannada movie, then Pogaru is a must watch movie.
Antagonists
An interesting aspect of the film is the use of four international bodybuilders as antagonists. The crew enlisted Kai Greene, the former Mr. Olympia runner up from the USA, Frenchman Morgan Aste who is nicknamed The Big Rock, South African fitness professional John Lucas and German fitness model and influencer Jo Linder.

Music
Pogaru is already considered a superhit even before its release and the music composed by Chandan Shetty is the reason for it. One of the songs of the film Karabuu recently garnered huge attention from the netizens for its theme. The song has been viewed over 200 Million times, which leaves its popularity in no doubt. Pogaru proves that music needs no language to connect.
Plot
Pogaru is a family entertainer. The film is a story about a mother and her son, who are separated when he was 17. Why that happens, how or whether they get back together is the story of the film.
