Baasha, Superstar Rajinikanth’s cult gangster action film, is up for a theatrical re-release in theatres. Written and directed by Suresh Krissna, Baasha will hit the screens on April 25th in Telugu.
Mango Mass Media has brought out a re-release trailer that captures the momentous and career-defining essence of the classic. It opens with Manikyam’s brother questioning Rajinikanth‘s character to reveal his hidden past. The iconic slow-mo walks and Nagma’s romance with the male lead follow. Anthony, played by Raghuvaran, essays a memorable negative character that looks menacing without being over-the-top. ‘Naa peru Manikyam. Naku inko perundi‘, the whistle-worthy lead up to the Baasha flashback, is another high moment that the Trailer cares to remind us.

Baasha, which has music by Deva, also features Janagaraj, Devan, Shashi Kumar, Vijayakumar, Anandaraj, Charan Raj, Kitty, Sathyapriya, Shenbaga and Yuvarani. Baasha was originally released in theatres on January 12, 1995.
