“#BRO” Telugu Movie Review:
Story:
BRO is the story of a brother and sister who grow up apart and end up with boxed up emotions. Madhav (Naveen Chandra) is forced to leave for Dubai in his adolescence to support the finances of Subbu’ (Avika) illness. The distance grows physically and emotionally as they both miss out on experiencing the best years of their life together. Unfortunate circumstances lead Madhav back home and rekindle his relationship with his sister and reunite with his long lost love.
Performances:
Avika Gor excels in her role as Subadra right from the word go. Her screen presence is magnetic and keeps you hooked. Naveen Chandra delivers a layered performance as the stoic and unemotional Madhav. His acting in the scenes with his father will get you teary eyed. Sai Ronak and Sanjana Sarathy did justice to their roles. Remaining support cast has little scope for performance as the story revolves mostly around the siblings.
Highlights:
The emotional ride of Madhav and Subbu stands out as the major highlight of the movie. Director Karthik and his technical crew captured the picturesque Araku and Vizag in all its glory making it a visual treat. Special mention to the music of the film as it is the soul of the film and forms the perfect vehicle for the story to deliver its impact.
Verdict:
BRO is a colorful slice of life movie with complex emotions that will tug your heart. The story drags on a bit in the second half but the director manages to pull it back with some memorable scenes. BRO is a faithful remake and an emotionally filled family entertainer you should not miss watching.
