It has been about five weeks since the release of Nandamuri Balakrishna and Boyapati combo Akhanda, still the action drama has not stopped surprising everyone in terms of collections. The film has already minted about Rs 127 crore in thirty four days. The Balakrishna starrer is highly successful to pull the audiences to the theatres. The actor’s performance especially as an Aghora got tremendous response from the moviegoers.
Along with the stupendous run at the theatres, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda is scheduled to release on Disney+ Hotstar. The company has taken over the rights and initially planned to stream the entire movie after four weeks of movie release, that is on January 12. The theatre collection expectations have been skyrocketing since its release. At this pace Akhanda is expected to get a good share during the coming days too. In the backdrop, the OTT streaming of the movie is postponed.
Akhanda movie was released on December 2 last year and it is supposed to be streaming on Hotstar earlier this month. But after considering the theatre collections trend, the idea of streaming Akhanda movie OTT is reconsidered. Recently, Hotstar has officially announced that the movie will be released on January 21st. This means that the film will be released only after seven weeks. This huge gap between the release and OTT streaming these days has become the topic of discussion.
Watching Balayya movies along with family during the festival days is the habit of Telugu audiences. So, everyone prefers to follow the custom during the Sankranthi festival season also. That is why it is reported that for Sankranthi, Akhanda will be exhibited in theaters only. Not on the OTT platform. On the other hand, Balayya’s Akhanda is heading towards completing 50 days and is set to break more records.
