Tollywood actors Allu Arjun and Allu Sirish hail from a filmy background and their grandfather Allu Ramalingaiah was a famous actor-producer in Tollywood. The legendary artist has played supporting roles, comical and villain characters in over 1000 films in Telugu and Tamil. Today, Allu Ramalingiah celebrates his 99th birth anniversary and the Allu family has made a big announcement on this occasion.
Allu Arjun and his family celebrated his grandfather Allu Ramalingaiah’s 99th birth anniversary today by paying a tribute and inaugurating Allu Studios, a large scale film shooting studio to mark the occasion. The actor took to his Twitter handle to make this big announcement and also shared a couple of family pictures along with younger brother Allu Sirish and elder brother Allu Bobby. Allu Arjun tweeted, “We celebrate the legacy of our grandfather and dedicate this ALLU Studios to him. With all your blessings and good wishes, we commence the works of ALLU Studios (sic.)”
In the next tweet, Allu Arjun shared pictures of the pooja ceremony along with the Allu family members and wrote, “1st of October marks the 99th birth anniversary of our beloved Dr Sri Allu Ramalingaiah. To commemorate the occasion and honour his memory, the Allu family will inaugurate the construction work of ALLU Studios (sic.)”

Allu Ramalingaiah was born in a farmer’s family in Palakollu in 1922 in Andhra Pradesh. He started his career in 1953 with the Telugu film Puttillu. He was known for his comic and villain roles in classic films such as Mayabazar, Missamma, Muthyala Muggu and Sankarabharanam among many other films. The actor was also awarded the Padma Shri in 1990 by the Government of India and received the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award in 2001.
