Stylish star Allu Arjun’s Sarrainodu is one of the benchmark films of his career. Directed by Boyapati Srinu and produced by Allu Aravind under his home banner Geetha Arts, the movie opened in theatres on April 22nd, 2016, amid huge fanfare. Lead actor Allu Arjun has received Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor – South for the action drama, which has completed six years on this day. Here are some glimpses about the movie.
Sarrainodu stars Allu Arjun, Rakul Preet Singh, Catherine Tresa, Srikanth, and Aadhi Pinisetty. Brahmanandam, Sai Kumar, Jayaprakash, Pradeep Rawat, Suman, and Adarsh Balakrishna play supporting roles.
The makers of Allu Arjun starrer Sarrainodu have erected a set worth Rs.1.5 crore to shoot a special song featuring the film’s lead pair. The makers have also hired one of the expensive Lamborghini cars to be used as part of this shoot.
The film score and soundtrack album were composed by S. Thaman. This is Thaman’s second collaboration with Allu Arjun after Race Gurram. The foot tapping hit numbers Blockbuster, You are my MLA, Telusa Telusa and Atiloka Sundari added by crazy dance moves of Allu Arjun become huge hits.
Sarrainodu was released in Telugu and along with a dubbed Malayalam version titled as Yodhavu. The audience were baffled by the cast’s performances, action sequences, cinematography, visuals and Boyapati direction.
On collections front, it was a major commercial success at the box office and became the second highest grossing Telugu film of 2016. The film reportedly earned ₹127.6 crore in the full run with about ₹96.90 crore coming from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and ₹10 crores from Kerala. The dubbed Hindi version of Telugu superstar Allu Arjun’s Sarrainodu has crossed 300 million views on YouTube, setting a record.
