The name Akkineni holds a prominent place in the industry. Starting with Akkineni Nageswara Rao to the latest Akkineni Akhil, every member from the family got their own charisma. Following the veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna took over cinema and steadily built his career. Owing to his dashing personality and stellar performance, Nagarjuna was named as style icon back in 1990’s.
Nagarjuna first appeared on the big screen as a child artist for the movie Sudigundalu(1967.) Later over the years he marked his debut in Telugu cinema with Vikram(1986,) which was well received by the audience and kick started his career. Following the success, Nagarjuna appeared in many versatile roles in family dramas, action thrillers, romantic movies and devotional hits. Some of his most popular movies are Aakhari Poratam(1988,) Geetanjali(1989,) Shiva(1989,) Killer(1992,) Annamayya(1997,) Ninne Pelladata(1996,) to the latest Manam(2014,) Wild Dog(2021.) Delivering super hits and stunning the audience with new roles for every venture, Nagarjuna earned the title King of Tollywood. On this day 35 years ago, Nagarjuna stepped into cinema and the history is enough proof for his massive hits. Despite 35 years of hard work, Nagarjuna’s hunger to deliver a new film to the audience remains intact. He is also known for his philanthropic works. Recently, Nagarjuna shared his dream about building a museum to Telugu cinema as a way to honour and pass it onto the next generations. Nagarjuna’s idea to preserve Telugu cinema received applause from everyone and his dream is taking shape very soon.

On the workfront, Nagarjuna is currently working on his latest Telugu movie directed by Praveen Sattaru. This yet to be titled movie is touted to be an action thriller and stars Kajal Aggarwalopposite him. He signed up for martial arts classes online to prepare for this action flick. The team shall begin their second schedule of shooting in June. Apart from this venture, Nagarjuna is also working on the Pan Indian movie titled Brahmastra.
