Ram Pothineni will be next seen in the upcoming film RED, which is directed by Kishore Tirumala. The film features Amritha Aiyer and Nivetha Pethuraj as his co stars with Hebah Patel performing a special number called Dinchak. After a lot of speculation, on Sunday, the makers finally announced the film is going to hit the silver screen on January 14 during the Sankranthi week. It has also received a U/A certificate from the censor board.
Ram Pothineni took to Twitter to announce the release date and wrote, “14th JAN, 2021!!! Chaaaaaallaaa rojulayindi manam kalisi! Eesaari Manta Maamulga Ledhu! (sic.)” (We are meeting after a very long time. Let us light up the screens on fire in January).

RED is an official remake of the Tamil action thriller Thadam. Ram will portray dual roles, who are constantly at loggerheads with each other. The trailer of RED, which was recently released, promised a double dose of entertainment from Ram Pothineni. RED will also feature Malvika Sharma, Sampath Raj and Vennela Kishore in crucial roles. The film was supposed to hit screens in April this year but the release was pushed due to the lockdown. Putting to rest all the rumours about RED hitting OTT platforms, the film is all set to entertain the audience in the theatres, on Sankranthi, 2021.
