Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao or KCR as he is widely known has announced his government will help the Telugu movie industry which has been badly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. KCR said necessary steps will be taken to help Tollywood and also said concessions and exemptions will be provided to support the industry and its workers. This announcement was received well by the celebrities and they took to social media to thank the Chief Minister for his support.

The COVID-19 pandemic has severely affected the daily wage workers in the Tollywood industry because of the strict lockdown. The lockdown meant there was no work for more than six months for the daily wage workers and this was where leading celebrities like Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna stepped up and set up a fund to help the workers.
