Premalu, the Malayalam film directed by Girish A.D., stars Naslen K. Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles. Premalu first came out in Malayalam on February 9, 2024. The film made a lot of money in Telugu state theaters as it acquired popularity and was well-received by the Telugu public.
SS Karthikeya, the son of SS Rajamouli, chose to release the Telugu dubbed version of Premalu in order to expand the film’s audience due to the overwhelming response the film has been receiving. Today, the Telugu-dubbed “Premalu” debuted in theaters to great acclaim.
Premalu Storyline:
An engineering graduate and shy boy named Sachin (Naslen K. Gafoor) has feelings for a lady in his college and gets rejected after he admits his love. He intends to travel to the UK after graduation, but his VISA application was rejected. Sachin requests his friend Amal Davis (Sangeeth Prathap) for assistance because he doesn’t want to remain in his village.
Sachin travels with Amal Davis, who intends to undertake GATE coaching in Hyderabad. Sachin falls in love with Reenu (Mamitha Baiju) the moment he sees her at a wedding event. The main characters’ journey is shown throughout the remainder of the movie.
Premalu Telugu Movie Review:
Certain stories, like “Premalu,” rely heavily on acting and screenplay, and are not suitable for every director. It’s a difficult task to convey the charm of a breezy love story with a simple plot, but Girish A.D. did it flawlessly and got the mark. Premalu is a lighthearted romantic comedy that combines humor, romance, and a very engaging and realistic storytelling style.
On-screen Performances:
In their roles, the lead actors, Naslen Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju, are incredibly charming. Naslen portrays Sachin in a very genuine way, and he has the appearance of the boy next door. Sachin’s character exudes charm, wit, and innocence, and the young actor did a fantastic job capturing those traits on screen.
Actress Mamitha Baiju is equally endearing as Reenu and has earned a devoted following thanks to her endearing acting and adorable facial expressions. The actress’s energetic performance and well-designed role help the audience fall in love with the character.
The character of Amal Davis, played by Sangeeth Prathap, is quite relatable since he is the kind of friend that we would all have at some point in our lives.
Technical Aspects:
Writing partner Kiran Josey works with director Girish A.D., and together they performed a fantastic job fusing romantic and lighthearted moments. Even in the dubbed version, most of the humor is situational and works effectively. Girish A.D.’s direction is excellent; in particular, the second half is masterfully directed and devoid of any dull periods. One of the most enjoyable rom-coms to come out in a while is Premalu.
Premalu has a lovely vibe that is enhanced by the photography of Ajmal Sambu and the music of Vishnu Vijay. The production values are outstanding, and the creators deserve praise for their brilliant portrayal of Hyderabad and for integrating it into the main plot, despite the Malayalam backdrop.
End Note: Premalu is an amazing rom-com entertainer with lots of funny moments. With impactful acting by the lead actors, Premalu’s hilarious sequences, emotional moments, endearing love narrative, and simple characters are all on point.
Premalu captivates the Telugu audience also because it skillfully weaves a picture of a bustling Hyderabad into the narrative.
