A. Revanth Reddy, the recently sworn-in chief minister of Telangana, has stated that the Government of Telangana will pay special tribute to the late revolutionary musician Gaddar. The historic Nandi Awards will now be called the “Gaddar Awards,” Revanth Reddy announced during a speech on Wednesday.
“Numerous Telugu film personalities have been requesting me to bring back the Nandi Awards ever since I became the Chief Minister. I also informed them that the awards will be resumed, but will take Late Gaddar‘s name for these prizes.”
“Every year on the occasion of Gaddar Anna’s birth,” the CM declared, “The Gaddar Awards will be presented.”
One of the most well-known artists in Telangana‘s cultural past, Gaddar is thought to have had a major influence on the rise to prominence of Telangana.
Revanth Reddy just meant that he would assume responsibility for getting the measure (To issue rewards in Gaddar’s name) adopted by the Assembly, despite his witty observation that his word can be regarded as a government order.
Before state separation, it was customary to present the Nandi Awards to distinguished artists yearly. During its ten-year term following the bifurcation, the BRS administration did not continue the awards tradition. Revanth Reddy, the new Chief Minister, is carrying on the custom of honoring deserving practitioners of music, dance, film, and other artistic mediums.
