In a momentous announcement on the occasion of Republic Day, Konidela Shivasankar Vara Prasad, widely known as Megastar Chiranjeevi, is honored with the esteemed Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award.
The official press note, released by the Press Information Bureau Government of India, highlighted the actor’s exceptional and distinguished service in the field of Arts, specifically acknowledging his significant contribution to Telugu & Indian Cinema.
After legendary actor Akkineni Nageswar Rao Garu, Chiranjeevi is the second actor from Tollywood, third South Indian after Superstar Rajinikanth and the sixth actor in India to receive this esteemed award. In 2006, Chiranjeevi received the Padma Bhushan. In addition to being a well-known actor, Chiranjeevi is a fantastic humanitarian.
Expressing his heartfelt gratitude, Megastar Chiranjeevi took to his social media handles to thank the Government of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his movie fraternity, and his devoted fans, considering them an extended family.

Amidst this momentous recognition, Megastar Chiranjeevi continues to captivate audiences with his upcoming socio-fantasy film, “Vishwambara.” The film, written and directed by Mallidi Vasishta of “Bimbisara” fame, promises to be a cinematic spectacle. Adding to the allure is the musical brilliance of acclaimed composer and Oscar-winner MM Keeravani. Produced under the banner of UV Creations by Vikram, Vamsi, and Pramod, the film is slated for a Sankranti 2025 release.
