Ladki: Enter The Girl Dragon is India’s first martial arts film. Ram Gopal Varma, aka RGV, made this film as his tribute to the great Bruce Lee. The film is based on an Indo-Chinese production and is going to be released in both India and China on July 15th. The film is also going to be released in multiple languages in India, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. RGV is promoting the film vigorously in many cities across India. For the first time in his career, RGV is very particular about promoting a film because he has an emotional connection to it. Sharing his views about Bruce Lee and how the great man influenced him to make the film Ladki, RGV released a special video on his Instagram today.
“Ladki is the most important film of my career. This is because of my obsession and love for Bruce Lee, right from my college days. I admired Bruce Lee a lot, not for the action and the stunts he did, but for his fearless attitude and great philosophy. Then I decided to make a film on martial arts with the inspiration of Bruce Lee, but I could not because there were not many sources in India for martial arts then. Finally, I found Pooja Bhalekar very recently, after a lot of hunting for the lady martial artist, and started making Ladki. Though the film has nothing to do with Bruce Lee’s Enter The Dragon, the core inspiration for the film was taken from the original. So I titled the film, Ladki: Enter The Girl Dragon,” said RGV in the special video. RGV also felt very emotional that he had finally made his dream project and it is going to be released in China along with India. RGV is also very happy that the film will be released on more than 40,000 screens in China.

Ladki stars Pooja Bhalekar in the lead role. The actress was actually a professional taekwondo player in her real life. RGV found her after a lot of hunting and then gave her training in Jeet Kune Do, the martial arts technique Bruce Lee mastered. As a result, we can see some of the best action and stunt moves from the leading lady in the trailer of the film, and it is so certain that this will be a great asset for the film. Ladki (Ammayi) is going to be released on July 15th.
