Major is the most awaited biopic in India currently. To be particular, the film is more like a tribute than a biopic. Adivi Sesh took the responsibility and pride of telling the story of an unsung hero, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. The film is about the life of a soldier who sacrificed his life in the 26/11 Mumbai Attacks of 2008, as known to us all. Sricharan Pakala had already touched the hearts of the audiences with two soulful melodies Hrudayama and Oh Isha. The song Oh Isha has become a chartbuster ever since its release. Composing a song like Oh Isha which perfectly reflects the 90s feel is a great work and it’s appreciable. It is surely expected that Sricharan will steal our hearts and take us into the world of Major with his background score.
World’s top production house like Sony Pictures backing the film Major is a big asset. Sony Pictures getting on board to handle Major itself is a huge sign of a blockbuster output and result. Also Mahesh Babu backing the film under the banner of G Mahesh Babu Entertainment is another great strength and support to the film. Mahesh Babu on several occasions said that he had many goosebump moments while watching the final output of the film.
The promotional events of the film raised much expectations for the film from the audiences. The film unit did a rare feat for the first time ever in Indian Cinema. They conducted premiere shows in different cities 10 days prior to the film’s release. This is undoubtedly the best way to promote the film. The response from the premieres was amazing and it helps in boosting the bookings for the film prior to the release. The film unit also did another rare feat by conducting the pre-release event only after showing the film to the audiences in Vizag. So far, the film received a blockbuster talk from all the premiere shows.
The film also got the best ever compliment and achieved something that is really impossible. The film unit recently had a special show for 312 black cat commandos at the NSG, Mumbai. As soon as they watched the film, they took Sesh straight away to the headquarters to the group general and he honoured the film unit of Major with the NSG medal. Sesh said that the honour medal from the NSG, Mumbai is more valuable than the Oscar to him.
